One of only two mobile homes located within Hudson city limits was destroyed by a Monday morning fire. City of Hudson volunteer firefighters were dispatched at 7:53AM to a furnace fire at 247 Columbia Street that had reportedly been extinguished. First units arriving on the scene reported a working structure fire. Smoke billowing from the occupied trailer could be seen for miles

An aggressive attack by City of Hudson firefighters quickly knocked down the bulk of the fire, but it took longer to extinguish fire that had spread into enclosed areas including the ceilings, floors and crawl space. No injuries were reported. Units were on the scene until 11:30AM. Cause of the fire is under investigation.

City of Hudson firefighters were assisted by units from the Greenport Fire District and Village of Catskill Fire Department.
