It wasn't a "great stop" on Allen Street, it was an AMAZING stop. I can't thank you guys enough for saving my house. We were 2-5 minutes from a major conflagration. The Hudson (VOLUNTEER!) fire trucks were there while my tenant (who reported the fire) was still on the phone with 911. You had water on the fire within 30 seconds!!! Amazing. Thank you so much.

Coll & my Dad Jimmy Jr. (1940's & 1950's), the Nephew of the late Mayor Barthomew Delaney,cousin of former Commissioner Bart Jr. and I have the great pleasure of calling former Chief Pat Colwell one of my dearest friends on this planet. I am a retired 33 year memer of IAFF local 866 Waltham Massachusetts Fire Department and I have spent countless hours enjoying the warmth and hospitality of the Hudson Fire department.
I found this site accidentally while attempting to obtain details following the untimely death of another dear friend Orville Mateer. I have known a lot of your guys for a long time and your deptartment keeps getting better. I have not been a member of your deptartment for 5 years and know that I get to sit back and watch you work, there is no better department in Columbia County. I still have the opritunity to work with you guys on mutaul aid calls. It is still an honor. Awewsome web site.

I first want to say that I think that you are one of the finest Fire Departments I have ever dealt with. I was the person that was extricated from the van at 6th and Columbia.Not that I would wish this on anyone but it could not have happened in a better fire district.

There was nothing but extreme professionalism that evening from all your members. I'll tell you, after almost 20 years in the fire service, including with Hudson, I have never seen the operation for extrication go as smooth as you folks made it that night.

I want to say it was because I knew most of you that evening and I was getting special treatment; but I know that is how you operate on every call. You should be proud of your Department as you have many talented people there.
