Busy Super Bowl Sunday for Hudson Firefighters

Super Bowl Sunday turned out to be anything but relaxing for Hudson firefighters. HFD volunteers were dispatched to 4 calls over the course of the day on Sunday February 7th.

9:26AM: Tower 32 and Rescue Engine 27-9 stood by for Greenport Fire District while they investigated a fire alarm activation at Joslen Commons. Units were back in service at 9:51AM.

3:44PM: Units responded to a natural gas odor outside of 132 Warren Street. The odor was attributed to a furnace starting at the address. Firefighters were back in their stations at 4:24PM.

6:04PM: Engine 30 was assigned as the FAST (Firefighter Assist & Search Team) for a structure fire at 25 Hop O Nose in the Village of Catskill. Approximately 15 Hudson firefighters responded to the scene while another 15 stood by at the Central Station. Heavy fire damage was reported to the apartment. Units were back in service at 7:17PM.

7:51PM: Hudson FD was dispatched for a stove fire at 412 Warren St. The fire was extinguished in short order and damage was confined to the range hood and cabinets above the stove in the rear apartment of the multiple family dwelling. The approximately 30 firefighters who responded were back in quarters at 8:28PM.
