On Friday June 17th, four Firefighters from the City of Hudson Fire Department attended an Advanced Extrication Class held in Oriskany, NY. The training was sponsored by the NYS Fire Chiefs Association in conjunction with their 110th annual Conference and Fire Expo held at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino.

The day long class covered many topics including Vehicle Stabilization, Air Bag use, Hand Tools, and Hydraulic vs Electric Tools. Students rotated through multiple stations and ended the class with a live scenario based situation.

Hudson Firefighters worked with several instructors from around the State, many of whom were Rescue Lieutenants and Captains at their respective Departments. The students learned many valuable lessons and will be bringing this knowledge back with them to share with the department.

Attending the class were Captain Nicolas Pierro, Lt. Michael McCrady, FireFighters Dan Hickey Jr. and Justin Elliott.
