Paul D. Silver passed on to a greater purpose on March 6, 2024. Paul joined the department on October 4, 1974, with J. W. Hoysradt Hose Co. #8.
Although many residents, and even some members have never heard of Paul, his legacy is long remembered in the Hudson Fire Department as one that has carried us on to remain a fully volunteer service for the past 4 ½ decades.
On November 1, 2023 Hudson Firefighters Jaxon Haigh, Miles Goldfarb, and Michael "Adam" Finden graduated from the New York State SCBA/Interior Firefighting class held at the Columbia County Fire Training Center.

On October 17, 2023, the Hudson Common Council unanimously authorized the construction and purchase of a 2024 Stanley 26' Fire/Rescue Landing Craft style boat for the fire department. The purchase comes after a 7-year quest to replace our 1999 McKee Craft Pulse 1800 which does not meet our current operational needs.

At 04 :42 this morning Hudson FD was alerted by Columbia County 911 of a reported chimney fire at 438 East Allen St.
On arrival members found an active fire in the floor joists between the first floor and basement of a large 3 story peaked roof building.
